NYCM Insurance has been involved with raising funds for the American Heart Association for 29 years, and this year the company set a goal of raising $100,000. What they didn’t expect was for 85 percent of that to come from one employee.
With the help of donations from his friends, Al Pylinski of NYCM Insurance was able to personally raise $85,000 for the American Heart Association this year.
“I’m a four-time heart patient survivor and my family is riddled with heart disease. I’ve told this many times in the past, my grandfather, my father all passed away with heart disease. I have two siblings, both brothers, who have been in for open heart as well as stents, and a sister who has been in.”
While people often want donated funds to stay local, in this case, having the money go where the most cutting-edge heart research is being done is a win-win for everybody.
If you’d like to make a donation, you can call the WKTV Heart Telethon before 1 p.m. at 1-866-374-9588.
