UTICA, N.Y. – The New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association made a $5,000 donation to the American Heart Association during the WKTV Heart Telethon on Saturday.
“Heart disease affects a lot of our members, not only that, the people where we work and live in the communities, it affects them also -- so it’s a no-brainer to donate to this cause, it’s an awesome cause,” said Bryan Hluska, central region vice president at NYSCOPBA.
There are members of NYSCOPBA serving as security for America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk, and also participating in the events.
