UTICA -- Notre Dame students celebrated new beginnings at their annual graduation ceremony.

The graduation was held Friday evening, and was the first of many local high school graduations this season.

Many students were emotional, but excited to be starting a new chapter of their lives.

Friends and family filled the school's gymnasium, where the graduation took place.

The ceremony started with prayer and students singing the national anthem.

Nearly 70 students graduated, most of them with honors. This year the school graduated 100 percent of their seniors.
