POLAND N.Y.-The Poland Fire Department held it’s annual Chinese Auction Sunday.

The event benefits the fire department, and proceeds go toward buying new equipment.

Items up for auction included clothes, shoes, books, pumpkins, and more.

There was also a Chicken BBQ, a Bake Sale, and people were even able to see the fire trucks and a Lifenet Helicopter.

Poland Fire Chief Michael Galuzzo says the event gets the community involved every year and it is a huge event for the department.

"This event helps us pay for our training, supplies, air packs, anything related to the fire department and training. We send a mailer out asking for donations for the Chinese Auction, chicken BBQ. It brings the community together, help out and support us and as you can tell there's a great turnout." Galuzzo said.

Dozens of people attended the event.
