NEW YORK MILLS -- Stanley Hapanowicz showed up to work at Hapanowicz Brothers Meat Market in New York Mills Monday, just as he's done every day, even throughout the coronavirus pandemic. However, Monday was a special day for Stanley -- it was his 90th birthday.
The market has been open since before Stanley was born, and he is one of the last of seven brothers still working for the business.
"In the 50 years that I have been associated with the Hapanowicz brothers, Stanley has been here everyday. Today is his 90th birthday and he is working today. So, my advice to anyone is to keep on working and stay out of the nursing homes," said Stanley's nephew Leonard Hapanowicz.
Stanley works every day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Hapanowicz Brothers Meat Market has been in business for over 95 years and makes their own kiebalsa, hot sausage and more.
