UTICA, N.Y. -- The Utica Common Council voted to table an ordinance for the discontinuance of properties in the downtown hospital footprint.

The legislation is to discontinue Cornelia Street from Columbia Street to Lafayette Street and Sayres Alley.

The properties would be sold and acquired by MVHS for the hospital. The council voted to table that ordinance because council members say they need more time because there are too many unanswered questions to pass this legislation.

The council requested a meeting with MVHS representatives sometime soon to learn more. That meeting has not been scheduled yet.
