CONSTANTIA, N.Y. (UPDATED) – Two people from Syracuse have died after an accident involving a motorcycle and pickup truck in Oswego County on Tuesday.
New York State Police say 31-year-old Carl T. Macrina, of Mohawk, was driving his pickup truck east on Route 49 in Constantia, when he started to turn into a parking lot, not noticing a motorcycle approaching heading west.
The motorcycle driver, Brian J. Zepp, 48, of Syracuse, wasn’t able to avoid hitting the truck as it was turning, and he and his passenger, 55-year-old Lori S. Zepp, were both ejected after the impact.
Brian and Lori were taken to Upstate University Hospital by Mercy Flight, where they both later died from their injuries.
Macrina was not injured in the crash, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
