10-29-19 SCORES: CVA girls, Poland boys advance to respective soccer section finals; Holland Patent field hockey earns spot in Section III Class B final

Section III Class B girls soccer semifinals
CVA 2, Holland Patent 1

Central Valley Academy advanced to the Section III Class B girls soccer final with a 2-1 win over Holland Patent thanks to two goals from Reilly Rich. Cierra Doolen made six saves in goal for the Thunder.

Rory Richard scored the goal for the Golden Knights, while Haedyn Roberts made eight saves.

CVA advances to take on Westhill in the Class B final on Friday in Cortland.

Section III Class D boys soccer semifinals
Poland 2, Lyme 1 (OT)

Kade Ozog's two-goal night, including the overtime golden goal game-winner, sends Poland to its fourth straight section final with a 2-1 win over Lyme.

Ozog's first goal came just 22 seconds after the Tornadoes fell down 1-0 on an Indians marker by Trevor Weston.

His overtime winner was scored just over six minutes into the extra frame.

Jarrett Papp had two assists and Connor Broadbent made 10 saves in the Poland net.

The Tornadoes will face Fabius-Pompey in the Class D final on Tuesday back at VVS High School.

Section III Class B field hockey semifinals
Holland Patent 2, Cortland 0

Holland Patent dispatched Cortland 2-0 to advance to the Class B final where they will face East Syracuse Minoa in a rematch of last year's final.

Madison Oliver and Madeline Acevedo were the goal scorers for the Golden Knights in the victory.

The Knights will take on the Spartans for the title on Sunday at VVS High School.
