TROY, N.Y. - Police say an 11-year-old boy was killed in a drive-by shooting in Troy.
The Times Union reports that police arrived to find the boy with a gunshot wound to the head late Sunday.
Authorities say Ayshawn Davis was a student in the Lansingburgh schools. Police say the child was walking with a group when a vehicle heading north opened fire. Mayor Patrick Madden says that no expense will be spared in pursuit of the boy’s killer.
Ayshawn was celebrated in a local TV newscast last summer for his eagerness and unusual work ethic after he talked his way into a job at a pizza restaurant.
