JORDANVILLE - As Election Day comes to a close, one tradition continues. The Jordanville Federated Church held its 110th annual Election Day dinner.
The original intent of the dinner was to get people to go out and vote.
The dinner takes place in the basement of the church. Hungry voters waited upstairs for their number to be called to go down and eat. Once their number was called, the group would then file downstairs where they would be seated by church volunteers.
The dinner was a full course roast beef meal put on by church volunteers.
Volunteers say that this year's turnout was greater than expected - just like at the polls.
