UTICA, N.Y. – A 13-year-old is accused of assaulting an infant at a home in Utica last week.
According to Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Utica police were called to the home on Tuesday, June 1, for a reported assault on a 1-year-old child. The infant was sent to the hospital to be treated for cuts and bruises on her face and head.
Following the investigation by the Child Advocacy Center, the 13-year-old was referred to Oneida County Juvenile Probation and charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Due to the suspect’s age, a name has not been released.
An order of protection has been requested on behalf of the infant.
