UTICA, N.Y. – Utica police have charged a 16-year-old who was allegedly found with a gun after shots were fired on Gold Street Friday.
The teen, whose name will not be released, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say a group of juveniles were walking down the street when they started arguing with one of the residents. Then, one of the teens pulled out a handgun and shot into the air toward Harding Place.
When officers arrived to the 100 block of Gold Street, they found two males nearby matching the suspects’ descriptions, and discovered the 16-year-old had a loaded 9mm handgun.
The same night, another shooting happened on Gold Street where a 4-year-old was hit in the hand. Another shooting was also investigated on Dudley Avenue, and shots were reportedly fired on Chestnut Street.
