2-car crash in Westmoreland shuts down roadway

WESTMORELAND, N.Y. – Emergency crews were dispatched to an accident Tuesday evening where two vehicles reportedly smashed into each other head-on.

WESTMORELAND, N.Y. – Emergency crews were dispatched to an accident Tuesday evening where two vehicles reportedly smashed into each other head-on.

The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on Cooper Street, near Station Hill Road in Westmoreland.

A WKTV journalist on the scene could see one white car in the ditch as a tow-truck operator attempted to hoist it onto a flatbed truck.  Firefighters were also on the scene.

Roads in that area were closed off to traffic for about an hour.

Officials have yet to release how many people were involved in the crash, if anyone was hurt or what caused the accident.
