UPDATE: Rome Police release new information regarding the shooting on Whittier Ave.

Rome Police have confirmed two men died, and a woman injured after an incident on Whittier Avenue in Rome.

UPDATE: Rome Police have released new information regarding the shooting on Whittier Ave in Rome. Rome Police tell NEWSChannel 2 this all started when the female victim went to the police about what police call a minor domestic issue. Police said the woman was complaining that the shooter was doing something to annoy her.

The shooter and the female were in a relationship that police said has ended. 

Rome Police said about an hour and a half after her first complaint with police, the shooter, using what police said was a long gun, fired at the female inside of the home on Whittier Ave as well as her brother, killing her brother. 

Police said at least three shots were fired.

The female victim called 911 alerting police to the home.

The female's brother was found dead outside of the home on the driveway. The female victim was found shot inside the home and taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is expected to survive.

Rome Police said the shooter appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. But Police are waiting for more evidence before making that call.

The investigation is still ongoing. 

Police plan on releasing more information tomorrow.

Rome Police tell NEWSChannel 2 they were called to 107 Whittier Avenue in Rome for a shots fired, just after 6 p.m. on Saturday.

When they got there, they say they found a male victim in the driveway deceased.

They tell us officers were able to communicate with a second victim, a female, inside the home who was shot in the abdomen.

She told officers a male suspect was inside the home, deceased due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Once officers when into the residence, they were able to determine the second male victim died.

The female victim was taken to the hospital, and is expected to survive.

The investigation is ongoing.

ROME- NEWSChannel 2 crews are on Whittier Avenue in Rome where there is a large police presence.

According to camera crews, the Rome Police Department has the entire street blocked off. There is also caution tape up.

Calls came in just after 6 p.m. on Saturday.

There were reports that a helicopter was called.

We are working to get more information.
