WESTMORELAND, N.Y. – Two men were taken to the hospital after a car accident in Westmoreland early Tuesday morning.
Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol says the accident happened at the intersection of Lowell Road and Route 26 around 6:30 a.m.
Daniel Wossner, 60, of Rome, was traveling eastbound on Lowell Road in a 2015 Kia, and did not see the stop sign as he approached the intersection due to the fog.
He continued driving through the intersection where he hit 53-year-old Eric Legler, who was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi.
Both men were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center by Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps to be treated for minor injuries.
Wossner was issued a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign. He is scheduled to return to Westmoreland Town Court at a later date.
