NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – New Hartford police have arrested two teens who were allegedly involved in an armed robbery in the parking lot of the Oneida Street McDonald’s on April 8.
Police say the two teens were with two other male suspects when they all drove to the parking lot around 3:15 p.m., after arranging to meet with the victims.
The victims claim that two of the suspects got into the back of their car, and one of them showed a handgun. They allegedly stole items from the victims, while the other two suspects approached the front of the vehicle. The suspects are accused of physically attacking someone in the front seat, and stealing their property as well.
All four suspects then fled the scene.
After an investigation, police have arrested two 17-year-old males. One of the teens was charged with first- and second-degree robbery, both felonies, and placed on domicile restriction.
The other suspect was charged with criminal use of a firearm, as well as first- and second-degree robbery. The teen was arraigned and sent to a juvenile detention facility.
Names will not be released, since both suspects are underage.
Police are still investigating the incident, and ask anyone who may have more information to call Officer Emerson at 315-724-7111.
