UTICA, N.Y. -- The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Utica kicked off at 10 a.m. Saturday.

-Road closures, parking regulations for St. Patrick's Day Parade

This parade, which is one of the largest in the state, started way back in 1824.

After several years of inactivity, the parade was revived in 1978.

Today, more than 100 units including pipe bands, Irish dancing, fire departments, and local businesses make up the event.

The WKTV NewsChannel 2 crew is positioned in front of the Stanley Theater, on Genesee Street, just past the halfway point of the parade, but we have teams throughout the route.
