23 local recruits graduate in Correctional Officer ceremony

The recruits come from the Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, and Oswego County Sheriff's Offices.

UTICA, N.Y. --  After eight weeks of intense classroom, hands-on, and field training -- 23 recruits have been sworn in as Corrections Officers. 

Graduation was held Monday night at the Mohawk Valley Police Academy, on the MVCC Utica campus. 

The recruits come from the Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, and Oswego County Sheriff's Offices. 

During the ceremony, the Correction Officers had their official agency badges pinned on them by their respective Sheriffs. 

The Undersheriffs then gave the new recruits their certificates of completion for the academy.
