UTICA, N.Y. – The City of Utica is partnering with the Utica Center for Development to provide $25,000 to the 58 residents forced to move from Olbiston Apartments on Genesee Street last week.
The money can be used to help cover moving expenses, storage, mobility assistance and other unforeseen costs incurred from being displaced unexpectedly.
Utica Center for Development is also donating furniture, clothing, appliances, staff services, transportation and other resources to assist the residents.
Any of the former Olbiston tenants, or their advocates, can request assistance by contacting UCD at 315-765-0975 ext. 202 or emailing: email@example.com.
As of Monday, July 19, all but five of the former Olbiston tenants were placed in temporary or permanent housing through the help of multiple local agencies.
