UTICA – The local American Red Cross is assisting three people and three dogs following a fire on Oneida Street in Utica Wednesday evening.
The fire broke out around 5 p.m. Wednesday. When crews arrived on scene they found smoke and flames coming from the roof of the garage, and the fire spread into the first floor ceiling of the house and some of the second floor walls.
Fire officials say it took crews about an hour to get the fire under control, and there is a significant amount of damage.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance and emotional support to the three people who have been displaced along with their three dogs.
