UTICA – Four local runners who are set to graduate from high school soon were awarded scholarships by the Boilermaker Road Race on Wednesday.

At the Boilermaker Scholarship Breakfast, Hali Ielfield from South Lewis High School and Andrew Ford from Clinton High School were both awarded scholarships for Outstanding Achievement in Distance Running. Cheyenne Shoemaker from Holland Patent High School and Ryan Brooks from New Hartford High School were awarded scholarships for Outstanding Commitment to Distance Running.

Each of the scholarships are worth $1,500, and the recipients also receive a free Boilermaker race registration and they’ll be seeded within the elite running corral.
