UTICA – Day two of jury selection for the Kaitlyn Conley murder retrial is underway in Oneida County Court.
Twenty-four-year-old Conley of Sauquoit is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly poisoning her chiropractor boss, Dr. Mary Yoder, to death in 2015. Her first trial ended with a hung jury in May.
On Thursday, all jurors but one alternate had been seated, and a group of 10 remaining potential jurors was asked to return Friday morning. However, three alternate jurors are now needed, after two jurors raised questions that they realized once they got home yesterday.
One of the jurors realized that they went to school with one of the investigators and another juror learned that their spouse’s best friend is Conley’s cousin. Both of the jurors were dismissed, and the judge began bringing in the remaining 10 potential jurors to question them individually.
