WHITESBORO, N.Y. -- The Whitesboro Fire Department held a silent march on Sunday to honor 9/11.
The march started at the fire department, went down Oriskany Boulevard to Clinton Street and then Park Ave.
It was done in silence to honor those who lost their lives 20 years ago on September 11th, 2001.
Area first responders and local elected officials were in attendance.
"I think in times when so many people are apart during this COVID time, it's so nice that they did take the time. Even though it's kind of a small ceremony, I saw people as I marched along. I saw people stop and bring their children. You know even with me, some of my staff weren't born when 9/11 happened. It's really important that we all pass on what happened that day along with other things in our history that happened before of course many were born" says Judy Reilly, piper who led the silent march.
A flag was also carried during the march with all of the names of those who lost their lives that day.
