SAUQUOIT, N.Y. -- As we get closer to Halloween, the Sauquoit community started a little early.
The annual “Witch Way is the 5K?” and children’s fun run took place Sunday morning in the Village of Sauquoit.
Children aged five through twelve conquered the rain Sunday and participated in the fun run.
The little ones enjoyed a friendly competition between one another.
With COVID-19 still an issue in the area, organizers say they still wanted the kids to be able to do something fun before Halloween.
“Right now outdoor things are something that we can do. We've got a lot of great parents here who are slugging out the rain today. They are enthusiastic for their kids and the kids have fun, it's a great thing to do” says one organizer Joanne Eisinger.
The money that was brought in today will help programs within the school districts such as wellness programs and scholarships for high school seniors.
