UTICA -- The Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center serves as an information hub for law enforcement across Oneida County.
The center allows law enforcement to analyze local crime trends. The crime center, located at the Utica Police Dept., is one of eight centers in the state and has been open for a year.
Lt. Stanley Fernalld says he hopes the center will help improve crime rates throughout the community.
"Our goal is to reduce crime in the community that we serve," Fernalld said. "Additional goals is to help law enforcement across Oneida County and beyond to have better tools to solve crimes and assist with our investigations"
The lieutenant says he analyzes information for law enforcement to use in their investigations. He says this helps police combat crimes by giving them the tools and information they need.
The lieutenant says he hopes to improve on their operations, and further the center's success within the law enforcement community.
