No doubt, the weather has been much cooler than average, lately. We're in the middle of a prolonged cold spell which began more than 2 weeks ago in mid April. April ended up finishing about 2.5 degrees below average, which didn't set any records. The general cooler than average pattern continues, but we do catch a much needed break this weekend!
A surge of warmth does return just in time for the weekend. The sunshine helps bring temperatures into the mid 60s on Saturday. A cold front moves through Saturday night into Sunday, bringing a round of rain showers. The weather behind this front isn't all that chilly. It looks warmer on Sunday, with highs in the upper 60s!
A secondary cold front brings cooler weather back to the region on Monday. Turning breezy, with scattered rain showers. The weather looks much cooler than average for most of next week, with highs in the 50s. Average highs for early May are in the low 60s.
