VERONA, N.Y. -- A New York Times best-selling author and columnist for the Washington post, Leslie Morgan Steiner, is also a domestic violence survivor.
Steiner is booked as the keynote speaker at next month's Kristin’s Fund Gala – the annual event is being held at the Turning Stone Casino.
Kristin's Fund was established in memory of Kristin Palumbo Longo who was killed by her estranged husband in September of 2009.
The fund helps support domestic violence prevention, education, and awareness.
"We provide grants for domestic violence education, prevention and awareness programs. And we have also done a call to men football camp. Which is a football camp, it was free to kids. They learn skills and drills, but it was infused with this message of being a man can also be compatible with being respectful to women,” said Gina Pearce.
The gala includes a sit-down dinner, entertainment from Showtime, a luxury trip silent auction, and a diamond jewelry raffle.
This all takes place on Saturday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Turning Stone Resort Casino.
