BOONVILLE- Adirondack Central School Seniors and parents, are letting school officials and Oneida County know they want a real graduation.
Currently, the graduation is scheduled for June 27 and will be virtual.
On Saturday afternoon, about 200 people including 88 seniors, marched from the elementary school to the high school in support of the 2020 graduating class.
Marchers tell NEWSChannel 2 they feel it's possible to hold a normal graduation and social distance.
They say they hope their message is heard by school and Oneida County Officials. "The governor is allowing these people to have big events like protests and memorials with hundreds and thousands of people, " said one of the organizers, Kim Pribble. "We only have 88 students, so we could definitely social distance and the kids could have a ceremony with their family."
Marchers were escorted by members of the Boonville police and fire departments.
