UTICA, N.Y. – The Adirondack Scenic Railroad will be back up and running in July after being out of commission for more than a year and a half due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Thendara trains will start running Friday, July 3, with trains from Utica to Thendara starting the following Friday, July 10.
The beer and wine train will start up again July 23, with live music included.
The Polar Express is also expected to return this holiday season.
“We’re so excited to announce our train service will finally be starting back up again in July,” said Bill Branson, president of the Adirondack Railroad Preservation Society. “We’ve received so many inquiries over the past several months as to when we’d be running the trains again; now we finally see light at the end of the tunnel.”
