UTICA, N.Y. -- It's National Love Your Pet Day, but the Utica Children's Museum celebrated it in a different way.

Wednesday, adoptable animals from the Herkimer Humane Society visited the children's museum.

The kids were encouraged to bring their stuffed animals to the veterinarian station to get them checked out.

Children also created pet-related crafts at the museum, but the museum as a whole has a lot of excitement.

“The museum has changed so much in the past year since kids Oneida has taken over and managed services for it, we have made sure it is clean, it is active it is safe for all of our visitors so, it's a whole new museum,” said

There's a full lineup at the children's museum for the entire February break – Thursday is Carnival Day, Friday it's STEAM Day, Saturday is Science Day and Sunday it's Sign Language and Braille Day.
