HERKIMER, N.Y. – The Arc Herkimer raised a record $390,000 during its annual New York International Wine Auction fundraiser on Sept. 28.
The Arc Herkimer has been holding the event for 24 years, and have decided to make the next auction the final one.
Kevin Crosley, president and CEO at Arc Herkimer, says after the success of this year’s auction, it seems appropriate to celebrate the last year of the event on its 25th anniversary, allowing the organization to move forward with other fundraisers.
“The New York International Wine Auction has been an amazing event throughout the years and has brought so many people together to join in Arc Herkimer’s mission. We are excited to bring it back one last time and go out on top—while looking ahead to the promise of the agency’s future with fresh ideas,” said Crosley.
Funds raised at the auction go toward Arc Herkimer’s guardianship, self-advocacy, and spirituality programs, which tend to be underfunded. There was also a focus on safety and security this year, with some proceeds going toward defibrillators, mobile lift equipment and other safety features.
The final New York International Wine Auction event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020.
