While the weather is quiet this morning, a cold front will move through the area this evening, bringing strong to severe thunderstorms. The best chance for thunderstorms will be after 4PM, from north to south. Any thunderstorms that do develop could contain damaging winds as well as small hail.
Our biggest concern though is the potential for flash flooding. The threshold for flooding is now quite low due to the excessive rainfall over the past couple of weeks.
Areas that have flooded recently, have a greater chance of flooding once again due to the high water. If you live in a flood prone area, take precautions and keep an eye on water levels along rivers, creeks and streams. Thunderstorms diminish overnight but the chance of rain sticks around into Wednesday morning. We finally see some dry weather Thursday!
