UTICA – A new musical is making its way to Utica in January.
“American Girl Live” is making will give its only New York performance at the Stanley Theater in Utica at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15 and Wednesday, Jan. 16.
“As bold tales of bravery and friendship come to life, iconic American Girl characters lend a hand through story and song,” the show announcement reads. “Join your favorite American Girl characters and the campers as they follow their hearts, share their dreams, and learn the power of friendship.”
Seating will be limited to 1,000 tickets so that audience members can enjoy an up close and personal experience.
All proceeds from the show will benefit Kids Oneida.
“The musical is actually going to bring some of the well-known characters of American Girl Doll to life on the stage, and will share with kids and families the stories of those characters, and really their stories of resilience and what they've done to overcome and really just have encouraging, exciting lives,” said Steven Bulger, executive director of Kids Oneida.
Tickets start at $40 and go up to $75, which includes orchestra seating and a meet-and-greet with cast members, as well as photo ops. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
