UTICA, NY – The Utica Public Library is once again hosting its annual cultural spotlight.

This year they’re shining the light on the Asian culture.

The event kicked off Tuesday with an Evening of Asian Cuisine in the library’s gallery.

People got the chance to sample authentic Asian cooking and view pictures of Asian art and architecture.

Carl Antonucci, the library’s Adult Program Coordinator says culture is one way that draws people together.

“When you look at other cultures, one thing that draws people together is the appreciation of art and architecture or cinema culture. These are the things that people relate to. They kind of draw people together instead of pulling them apart”.

The next event in the library’s Asian Cultural spotlight takes place on October 23rd at 6:30 pm.

It will feature the screening of the 1960 romantic drama “The World of Suzie Wong”.
