DEANSBORO, N.Y. – The Daniel Barden Mudfest has been officially canceled this year, after postponing the annual event in April due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Organizers say this is the first time they have had to cancel the event since its inception in 2012.
The mud run has been held for the past eight years in memory of Daniel Barden, a first-grader who was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut.
An important message from Mudfest
Anyone who has already signed up for the event and paid the entry fee, can request a refund at: email@example.com, by Oct. 31. Organizers have asked that people consider donating the fee back to the mud run, to cover costs that were incurred while planning this year’s event.
Next year’s mudfest is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 1.
