LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. – Arc Herkimer is holding its fourth annual Tom Bergen Memorial Autism Awareness Bowling Tournament at RD’s Gorge View Lanes in Little Falls from Feb. 22-23.
The event is in honor of Tom Bergen, who passed away suddenly in 2016.
Tom’s mother, Tammy Helmer-Bergen, is the guardianship and spirituality coordinator at Arc Herkimer.
“This tournament is in honor of my son Tom. He had autism and passed away suddenly in 2016. We do this to remember him because he loved bowling, was an advocate for autism awareness, and was a dedicated volunteer at Arc Herkimer for over 16 years,” said Tammy.
She says all proceeds from the event will support workshops and resources provided by the Arc Herkimer’s Autism Program.
The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, and at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Cost is $15 per bowler. There will also be a paint party from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday for $10.
Anyone interested in attending can pre-register for the event at the bowling alley or by calling 315-823-3630.
