UTICA- If you have ever wondered if your kids are hiding drugs in your home, the Catholic Charities of Herkimer County investigated this matter for you. Over the past several months Kayleigh Laquay has been researching in depth different places kids could potentially be hiding drugs.
On Thursday, Laquay put together a “mock teenager’s room” at the Good News Center, which showcased several different avenues of where drugs could be hidden.

“Kids could hide drugs inside coffee mugs, tissue boxes, and even chapstick containers,” said Laquay. “They take the Chapstick out and just throw some pills in there.”
Laquay even demonstrated how something as simple as a soda can could be used as a pipe. She also says parents should be alert to many other items:
JUUL’s vaping pens
Deodorant sticks stuffed with drugs
Mint Containers filled with pills
Lighters
Burnt spoons
