VERONA, N.Y. -- Arrests have been made in connection with an overnight fire at a vacant building in Verona Tuesday, and two are facing arson charges.
The Oneida Indian Nation police say 23-year-old Thomas Taverne, Jr. of Durhamville, 21-year-old John Rathbun, of Verona, and an unidentified 17-year-old boy from Canastota had involvement in the fire on Germany Road.
Taverne and the 17-year-old were both charged with fourth-degree arson, and Rathbun with third-degree criminal trespass.
The teenager was released on his own recognizance to a family member, Rathbun was released on an appearance ticket, and Taverne was sent to the Oneida County Jail on $10,000 bail.
Authorities say multiple area departments assisted in fighting the fire.
