DEERFIELD, N.Y. -- Local artists within Upstate Cerebral Palsy are getting chance to show off their work.
The Pieces of Heart Gala was on displayed Thursday night at Deerfield Place Apartments.
The program has more than 200 artists, creating artwork in several mediums, including painting and pottery.
Most of the artwork will be sold, and the money goes back into the program – with artists receiving a percentage.
"It’s just empowering to us, empowering to them, to see that happen because they just feel such a sense of accomplishment you know and for them to be able to say 'I am an artist' it’s just like a success,” said Susan Macrina, the recreation specialist.
This exhibit was a one-night event, but UCP hope to hold more in the future.
