ROME – Assured Information Security, located within the Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome, has been awarded a nearly $48 million Air Force contract, U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer announced today.
The $47,974,580 contract will allow AIS to “explore next-generation network operations and vulnerability assessment technology, or INNOVATE,” according to the news release. The goal of INNOVATIVE is to provide new cyber assessment tools for high-priority, emerging or existing telecommunications technologies.
Schumer says the work will be done in Rome through Jan. 10, 2020.
“This contract is not only a huge boost to the Mohawk Valley’s economy, but it will help the Air Force improve our nation’s cybersecurity infrastructure,” Schumer said in the news release. “The Mohawk Valley’s workforce is second to none, and the Air Force made the right choice by selecting Assured Information Security Inc. for this important work. It is awards like these that show how important Rome Lab’s work is to the local economy. I will to do everything I can to bring more work and jobs to Upstate New York.”
AIS is an information technology company founded in Rome in 2001, where the company’s headquarters are currently located.
