ROME, N.Y. – A man accused of attempted murder was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant Saturday, after a police officer spotted the suspect at a Stewart's Shop in Rome.
Sgt. Jason Fairbrother was at the Stewart's on Floyd Avenue around 1 a.m., where he arrested 30-year-old Roy C. Wright, who is facing attempted murder and first-degree gang assault charges.
Wright was allegedly one of four men involved in an altercation on West Liberty Street on June 19, that left 34-year-old Lowell E. Ferguson-Clark hospitalized with a stab wound.
Wright was arraigned and is being held in the Oneida County jail.
Police say Wright is also facing weapons possession charges out of Orange County, New York, but was out on bond at the time of his arrest.
