ROME, N.Y. (UPDATED) – Rome police and members of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed in south Rome Thursday afternoon.
Authorities were called to 418 Ann St. just before 1:30 p.m. for a custody dispute, before finding 35-year-old Jeremy Jaegers lying on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds to the torso.
Jaegers was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center to be treated for injuries that do not seem life-threatening.
Police are searching for a person of interest, but are not yet releasing any information about the suspect.
They believe Jaegers and the suspect know each other.
