BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Border agents have seized nearly 9,500 pounds of marijuana from a truck entering Buffalo from Canada.
Authorities say the find announced Monday is the biggest drug seizure on record at the northern border.
The drugs were found after the truck was X-rayed at the Peace Bridge June 25.
Authorities say the marijuana was found in vacuum-sealed bags inside wooden shipping containers and is valued at $20 million.
The 26-year-old driver is in custody. Customs and Border Protection officials say it was the third big marijuana seizure at the Peace Bridge this month and continues a sharp spike in seizures at ports of entry throughout New York.
