After unusual swings in the temperature in May, June's weather is shaping up to be much more typical. We started out the week on a cool note, but the weather has warmed up. Today's high of 85 puts us back above average. It's going to feel more like summer for Friday, with temperatures in the 80s with higher levels of humidity.
We do have the risk of thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening, but the overall risk is low (20-30%). The next weather system, a cold front, arrives Friday night and brings us the risk of rain early Saturday. The weather turns much cooler again on Saturday and Sunday, with highs back in the low 70s.
We are also keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Christobal. This tropical system is in the Gulf of Mexico and looks to make landfall over the weekend somewhere along the Western Gulf Coast. This system will bring a surge of heat and humidity back to Central New York late next week, with the brunt of the storm expected to pass to the west.
