NEW HARTFORD – One New Hartford restaurant is set to move, and several other new establishments could be arriving soon.
In Consumer Square, construction has started on a new 12,000-square-foot building next to Applebee’s. Blaze Pizza has submitted plans to the New Hartford Codes Department to move into the space.
Blaze Pizza is a franchise based in California with locations all over the country. Customers can pick and choose what they want on their personal pizzas – kind of like Subway, but with pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven.
The new building will also have space for two more businesses, including one with a drive-thru.
The town’s Planning Board has approved construction based on the state Department of Transportation’s recommendation that a lane be added in Consumer Square.
Not far from there, a vacant space near Panera Bread could be housing Five Guys. This is the location where the Blockbuster video rental store used to be.
Five Guys, which is currently located on Commercial Drive, has submitted plans to the New Hartford Codes Department seeking approval to move there. That would leave a vacant space where Five Guys is currently located – but not for long.
A restaurant called Wingstop wants to move into what would be the former Five Guys location. Just like the other restaurants, this would need approval by the town’s Codes Department.
There is no timeframe for when these changes may happen.
