BOONVILLE, N.Y. – The Boonville-Oneida County Fair has been canceled this year after the Board of Directors says it would be “impossible” to follow the safety guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The fair was scheduled July 28 – Aug. 2.
“Our concern is first and foremost with the safety and well-being of each and every person or attends and volunteers to make each years’ fair a success,” said Hyatt in a statement released Friday, May 22. "It’s impossible for us to adhere to all the CDC standards and recommendations and still provide a safe and entertaining event."
The fair is expected to resume in 2021, from July 27 – Aug. 1.
Since the fair’s inception in 1888, it has gone on every year, except for 1943 during World War II.
