UTICA, N.Y. - The holidays are fast approaching and if you don't believe it, just take a drive through West Utica.
The Boilermaker Finish Line is now decorated with bright holiday lights to get people into the spirit.
The lights were put up on Monday and Utica's Mayor Robert Palmieri flipped the switch Tuesday night.
"This is giving us hope," Palmieri said. "2020 has been a really tough year for all of us but if we all stick together, do all the right things, we all look at the hope and the bright lights and the beautiful lights the end of 2020 is going to be great and 2021 is going to be magnificent."
This is the first time the Boilermaker Finish Line arch has been decorated for the holidays.
It's also the first time the Boilermaker is selling ugly Christmas sweaters.
