UTICA - The race for the 119th State Assembly District is heating up, with another candidate primed to throw his hat in the ring.
Republican Dennis Bova, Jr. lives in North Utica and graduated from Notre Dame High School and the St. Elizabeth College of Nursing. The 44-year-old has worked in the health care field as a surgical technician. He will officially announce his candidacy on Friday at Tiny's Grill in Utica.
Bova has previously stated he is against the proposed Mohawk Valley Health System downtown hospital.
The 119th District seat is being vacated by Assembly Anthony Brindisi, who is challenging Rep. Claudia Tenney in the 22nd Congressional District.
Democrats Chris Salatino and Marianne Buttenschon are also running for the 119th District seat.
