ROME- On Saturday, friends of Evan, the little boy with Mowat Wilson Syndrome in need of a wheelchair, planned a bowling tournament at King Pin Lanes in Rome to help raise money for the Special Olympics.
Nicholas Christman, a family friend, helped put the tournament together. He said the money will go to help the athletes train, so they don't have to pay for that.
"Whatever helps these kids and helps these olympians. I mean some of these people could out do regular olympians," said Christman. "I just wish more people would get involved and give back."
Christman said he plans to have the tournament every year.
NEWSChannel 2 also asked him about Evan's wheelchair, he said the family received several donnations from the community.
