UTICA, N.Y. - Boilermaker officials plan to make an announcement on Tuesday regarding this year's Boilermaker, but the cat is already out of the bag.
A Saturday morning Facebook post includes an email letter to Boilermaker volunteers from Boilermaker 15K packet pickup coordinators, Ken and Mary Ziobro, which says the Boilermaker Race Directors have decided to officially postpone this year's event until Sept. 13.

Boilermaker Sponsor and Marketing Director Jordan Peters would not yet comment on the letter other than to say a full announcement on this year's Boilermaker will come on Tuesday.
Runners who plan on participating in the 2020 race had mixed reactions about the announcement.
"We kind of knew it was coming because of all the stuff that's going on. We were still hoping that it would go on as planned. But the postponement is not a bad thing, because the race will still go on," said Kevin Shanley.
Some runners like Wayne Murphy said the postponement would allow runners more time to prepare for the race.
"Well, I think it's going to give me a little extra time so I can definitely improve on my speed or my endurance. So just a little change to my training regiment, said Murphy.
